Octopus Amigurumi
I have been meaning to make my sweet princess Abby a cat toy for some time now. I came up with this octopus filled it with catnip and she absolutely goes nuts for it!
The octopus amigurumi (Japanese stuffed toy) is made with Aunt Lydia's Coats & Clark size 3cotton crochet thread in plum with an F hook.
The seaweed is made with worsted wool deep blue sea colors.

Prince Charles visits National Wool Museum
The prince, patron of the Campaign for Wool, criticised cost-cutting measures such as introducing new breeds of sheep which naturally lose their wool.
"That seems to me to be the absolute epitome of all that is wrong in the way that we look at the world," he said.
I thought this was interesting since I am half Welsh. :)

Summertime Cooldown - Reading and Crafting
It's definitely Summertime here in Connecticut!
The temps have soared into the triple digits and the humidity is unbearable. Other than the usual cool down methods such as water activities (sprinklers, swimming pool and beach), popsicles , and ice- cream treats. I wanted to escape inside for awhile to cool down.
So, Yesterday I took the boys to our weekly trip to the library. They are excellent readers and love to get their hands on anything with adventure and fantastic characters that travel into deep space or time travel. Well I had to do a little traveling on my own while I was there. To the third floor! Where all the art history and craft books are. While a little boring for two tween boys I had a great time sorting through all the wonderful crafting books and even took a peek at some architectural history books that dated back to the early 18th century.

I love this fiber and the color of the blue is just gorgeous.
A few more stitches around the top and then add the drawstring ,
I can't wait til it's done. :)
