Taggin my stash and Sippin Blackberry Smash

Taggin' my stash

Yesterday I was going thru all my things measuring and appropriately tagging ready for some love. It took forever but finally made it through all the small hats I had in two large sacks. I just have to stamp them now with my new stamp and add price. Not sure where they will be going yet but I'm sure they will make some little one happy! :)

Inspired by nature: The beauty of this orange Day Lily caught my eye today. It looks so peaceful glowing and basking in the sun.

Also I have been working on the baby blanket for a friend called Soft Shells which is constructed with panels of shells and stripes. Looks like an easy and quick pattern but as I got started I found some errors in the number of stitches not adding up to the correct measurements. I managed to add more stitches and then came to the edging and even that was interesting so I am winging it and hoping for the best! Pictures soon!

By the way, I have blackberries growing in my backyard and they are ripe for pickin'. I found two great recipes for blackberries today! Great Summer recipes!
Blackberry Smash and Blackberry Buckle.
Enjoy!

Crochet Knits for Spring 2010 - Chanel, Issey Miyake, Dolce & Gabbana, Missoni & More

This Week's Fashion Friday!!~

Crochet Knits for Spring 2010 - Chanel, Issey Miyake, Dolce & Gabbana, Missoni & More

I think it's so much fun to see modern crochet in fashion today!
There is also a crochet dress from H&M that was copied from Chanel but sells for less. What do you think about designers / manufacturers copying off of others?

I love the breazy skirt and also the hair clips, and knowing how to make things like this myself makes it even better! :P

So I made this coaster set using pink and white crochet thread with a touch of metallic sparkle thread in center of square.
Easy to do with a granny square pattern and a shell cluster edge.

Looks great with a cool glass of watermelon spritzer on top too! :D

Fun New Stamp!

I recently ordered a custom rubber stamp that I could stamp onto  my tags that I will attach to my items.
It was a free promotion from VistaPrint and by free I mean free stamp and pay only shipping which was really quick despite the fact I checked the cheapest and slowest option they gave me lol.
I got it in about a week! I was so excited when I got it yesterday I ripped the box open and tried it out.  I bought the "tags" seperately so I can stamp them and add pricing or other notes on it.
Their smallest stamper size works on
"Avery brand Marking Tags" size 1 3/4" x 1 3/32" 100 count pkg.

So now when you custom order,  your items will have a special tag on them.
These were just a test run so the next stamps may have my logo on them or other info.
Check out VistaPrint.com if you have a small business or just want some stamps, labels or cards they have great stuff and promotions like this all the time!

FF - Redneck Couture

I was initially going to post this fabulous feature on Salvatore Faragamo and his high fashion designs even his use of crochet in handbags and shoes. But instead I came across something on a more lighter fashion note. A bit on the outer edge of fashion than one might like but I supose it was used in a good way for a good cause. See below

It is made with crcohet thread so it is a lot of work again wears my patience down but I think it wil be all worth it in the end!

By the way, last weekend there was a local Greek Festival and I took the boys. My oldest is interested in Greek Mythology and wanted to go.  He enjoyed the lamb kabobs while his brother scarfed down (pun intended lol) gyros while I had a greek salad.  My two boys had so much fun and I am sure learned alot about a different culture as well.

I guess I will post this on my project list on Ravelry to keep me motivated on it and hopefully it won't become a dead fish.
